Your first visit
Your first visit is the most important. Knowing what to expect at the clinic would help you prepare for the visit and enhance your experience. At the clinic too, you would be guided at every step of the way, to ensure you get the best possible care. You can bring all your questions on a note book so that you do not miss on important points. Make sure you start on time considering traffic and other conditions and reach clinic 10 minutes ahead of scheduled appointment. Make sure you park your vehicle, if any, in proper parking space.
Registration
When you reach clinic, 10 minutes ahead of your appointment, as the first step, you would be registered as a patient with the clinic. You would be asked to fill in a form and be directed through the process by our registration desk.
History Taking
The all important next step is to have a detailed history taking session. You will be given a printed form for history – you can fill in whatever you can and for the remaining our doctor will assist you in furnishing the details. All the relevant history findings will be noted in records. We believe that half of the diagnosis and treatment plan would be suggested by history and relevant facts related to your health. Past medical records and findings are explored in history taking with all relevant personal information to generate your clinical profile.
Primary Evaluation
Here we will first do general examination of your all the systems and see how they are affecting your spine and joint health. Then we move on to specific examination of neck, back and/or joint. Spinalogy Examination Protocol is developed after thorough study of scientific data, books, literature and research over more than ten years. After neck and back examination, we evaluate neurological aspects of limbs and any involvement of the nerves because of the spinal condition. This will make understand your problem by our evaluation process. We believe every case is different and that’s why our evaluation targets a complete assessment through a standardized protocol.
Investigations
Depending upon the primary understanding if spinal condition, we advice any investigations if necessary. Most of the tests (X-rays and Laboratory) are done in clinic itself. For MRI or CT scan or bone scan etc, if required, you will be refereed to nearby diagnostic center and your appointments will be facilitated through clinic.
Diagnosis
The specialist would take into account the history, clinical findings and investigation results to conclude final diagnosis. The clinical diagnosis would be supported by a functional diagnosis, listing your expectations, impairments and constraints. Your spine score and other objective measures would also feature here to help guide the line of treatment.
Treatment
The treatment would be designed by our specialist by prescribing the right mix of therapies for your condition. Few prescription medicines might be advised and based on the diagnosis duration varies from 4 days to 14 days. The treatment plan would be customized by focusing on your expectations of recovery. The therapy plans are standardized and follow evidence based protocols for treatment.
Scheduling and Investment
Usually treatment plan consist if multidisciplinary therapies such as orthopaedic injections, physiotherapy, ergonomics etc. Typically it takes 45 minutes for one session and on an average 15 such sessions are required and are completed in 12 days – but duration and per day sessions will vary based on diagnosis and treatment plan prescribed to you. The scheduling of treatment plan and costing would be discussed with you by our Care Manager and would be one point contact for you during the entire course of treatment. His/her all contact details will be provided to you so that you can talk anytime you want during or after treatment.
Feedback
Regular feedback of your treatment would be conducted with various measures of performance outcomes. Re-evaluation would also be conducted periodically to assess the progress made on your condition. You would also be asked to provide feedback for our services and performance so that we can keep improving our care practices.
Follow up
Follow up plans would be discussed at the end of evaluations to complete the entire plan of care. This allows you to know exactly how your treatment would progress and next steps for continual relief. Usually some repeat session might be required if your condition demands the same and it will be discussed with you at the start of treatment.
